Theodora Tzakri was born and raised in Pella. She is married and has one daughter. She graduated from the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) and holds a Master’s degree in Public Law and Political Science from the Law Department of the Democritus University of Thrace. She speaks English and German. She has been practicing law since 1996. From 1998 to 2004, she served as an elected regional representative in Pella and held the position of Vice-Prefect for Education. She has been a Member of the Hellenic Parliament since 2004. She has served as Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs (2009–2011), Deputy Minister of Industry (2015–2017), and Secretary of SYRIZA’s Parliamentary Group (2023–2024). She was also a member of the Council of Europe and in particular of the Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination, the Committee on Human Rights and the Committee on Legal Affairs in the period 2012-2013, and member of NATO PA (Parliamentary Assembly) at 2015 and in the period 2019- 2024. At November of 2024 she became independent and joined the Movement for Democrasy party, as a vce president
