Short CV of Dr Evangelos Gogolides, Director of the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at NCSR Demokritos, Greece Email: e.gogolides@inn.demokritos.gr Website of research group: https://inn.demokritos.gr/research_group/plasma/ Google scholar: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=ifqL2toAAAAJ&hl=en Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/evangelos-gogolides-21210399/?originalSubdomain=gr Dr Evangelos Gogolides is a Chemical Engineer from NTUA-Greece, and holds an MSc and a PhD (1990) both from MIT-USA. His thesis work was on plasma processing and process simulation for semiconductor fabrication, and he did post-doctoral research on microlithography with Michael Hatzakis an IBM fellow and US Engineering Academy member, also for semiconductor fabrication. He is presently director of the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at NCSR “Demokritos”. He authored more than 329 publications (h-index 58, 11651 citations, google scholar) and 12 patent families, and coordinated several research projects on Nanofabrication and Microfluidics. He has founded the plasma nanotechnology laboratory at NCSR Demokritos. Dr Gogolides is a co-founder of two spin-off companies: Nanoplasmas pc and Nanometrisis pc. In 2025 he co-founded Salvinno pc for production of smart membranes and large area polymer surfaces. His current interests include vacuum and atmospheric plasmas for semiconductor, microsystems and lab-on-chip fabrication-used for chemical and biological analysis. He uses plasma surface engineering for multifunctional surface and membrane fabrication, as well as for water and food treatment. He uses these innovative membranes to unlock advanced water and air cleaning processes. Finally, he works on nanometrology and plasma process simulation. He is a founding member of the iMNESociety, President of the Hellenic Micro&NanoSociety, chair of several large international conferences (MNE 1997, MNE 2008, MNE 2019, i-plasmanano 2016 etc) and editor in chief of Micro and Nano Engineering (MNE) Journal of Elsevier.
