Deputy Minister of Energy of Bulgaria

Teodora Georgieva graduated from the University of National and World Economy, majoring in Finance, further complementing her qualifications by specialising in the field of infrastructure funding and public-private partnerships, including at SDA Bocconi School of Management and INSEAD Leadership Transition Program. She has more than 30 years of professional experience in managing strategic energy infrastructure projects and major international teams. Between 2015 and 2026 she was Executive Director at ICGB where she implemented and made the Gas Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB) a key element of the Southern and Vertical Gas Corridor. She leads complex technical, regulatory and international processes and contributes to strengthening energy security in the region. Previously, she took top management positions at OMV in Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia, where she was responsible for trade, operational and corporate activities. As Managing Director of Nabucco Gas Pipeline Bulgaria, she led key regulatory, permit and transborder processes on one of the most significant energy projects in Southeast Europe.
