Anthimos Thomopoulos Founder & CEO, Hellenic Finance, Greece Anthimos Thomopoulos is a senior banking & finance executive with over 30 years of experience in the Greek and the broader financial sector. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Piraeus Bank, where he led the transformation of the institution into one of Greece’s leading banks. Prior to that, he was Deputy CEO of the National Bank of Greece, playing a key role in repositioning the bank from a domestic leader into a prominent regional financial institution. In 2018, he founded Hellenic Finance, a distressed credit advisory and co-investment platform that supports international institutional investors in accessing distressed debt opportunities in Greece and Cyprus. In 2023, he co-founded the first direct private lending platform focused on special situations in Greece, targeting opportunities arising from the legacy of the sovereign debt crisis. Anthimos holds academic backgrounds in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Finance from institutions in Greece and the United Kingdom. He is a UK-qualified Chartered Accountant and a US Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
