Yianna Hormova is an administrative scientist and public policy expert. She is a graduate of the National School of Public Administration and the School of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, holding a degree in Archaeology and Art History. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a Master’s Degree in Museum Organization and Management from the University of Leicester. She is also a PhD candidate at Panteion University. Ms. Hormova has been a civil servant since 2010. Prior to her appointment as Governor of the Public Employment Service (DYPA), she served as Deputy Governor of DYPA (2022–2025), responsible for matters related to the management of movable and immovable public assets, social protection and housing support programs, technical services and public works, as well as policies targeting special and vulnerable social groups, with a focus on their (re)integration into the labor market and the reconciliation of professional and family life. She was also in charge of designing programs and overseeing initial and continuing vocational training, ensuring the proper functioning of the DYPA Apprenticeship Vocational Schools (EPAS), the Institutes of Higher Vocational Training (SAEK), the Athens Vocational Training School for Persons with Disabilities, the Vocational Training Center for Persons with Disabilities in Thessaloniki, and managing and developing DYPA’s network of childcare facilities. During her tenure as Deputy Governor, she was a member of DYPA’s National Council for Workforce Skills and served as Adviser for European Public Employment Services (AFEPA), representing the Greek PES at the European level. She previously served as Secretary General for Demographic and Family Policy and Gender Equality (2021–2022), and as Head of the Office of the Deputy Minister of Digital Governance (2019–2021). From 2014 to 2019, Ms. Hormova served as Secretary General of the Municipality of Karpenisi. She was also a Parliamentary Associate to a Member of the Hellenic Parliament for five years (2002–2007), and an associate to the Secretary General for Gender Equality in 2009. Ms. Hormova speaks English and Italian and has published studies and articles in scientific journals. She is a mother of two children.
