Panagiotis Papageorgiou serves as an Executive Director on the Board of ΕΛΚΑΚ. Panagiotis, is a seasoned senior executive with over 30 years of leadership experience in competitive multicultural environments across banking, innovation, FMCG, and global brand management in private as public institutions. Combines deep marketing, finance, and innovation-funding expertise, with a strong track record of building ecosystems, launching financial instruments, scaling start-ups, and transforming organizations. He served for 10 years as CEO of an American FMCG multinational (R.J.Reynolds Tobacco Int’l – JTI, Group subsidiary) overseeing four countries, and 17 years as General Manager of Retail Banking & SME Strategy at Probank and the National Bank of Greece(NBG). From 2021 to early 2025, he served as Director of Innovation at the Hellenic Development Bank (HDB), where he focused on fostering innovation and supporting the international expansion of Greek entrepreneurship. He actively participates in investment committees evaluating business plans of technology transfer projects as innovative ventures, and was a member of the National Sectoral Scientific Council (NSSC) for Technology Transfer & Intellectual Property, which advised the National Council for Research, Technology, and Innovation (NCRTI) His board-level experience in private companies spans over two decades, notably 10 years with the bank assurance sector at NBG Insurance Brokers S.A. (a National Bank of Greece subsidiary), 2 years at a leading Greek distillery with a strong international footprint, and 11 years at an innovative Greek FMCG manufacturer with robust Greek & Int’l distribution. Panagiotis holds a BSc in Business Administration from the American College of Greece and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Wales, (Cardiff Business School)
