Athena Balopoulou is the Chief Strategy and Development Officer of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, where she leads the organization's development initiatives, strategic planning, and marketing and communications. Over her ten-year tenure at the SNFCC, she has played a pivotal role in shaping one of the most widely embraced and trusted cultural brands in Greece in recent years- crafting and activating strategies that have connected the organization with local and global audiences in innovative ways. Before joining the SNFCC, she spent her formative professional years in New York, London, and Berlin, cultivating a dual expertise in cultural communications and arts administration, with a focus on strategy, research and development, and project management. During this period, she worked at seminal institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, Arts Council England, and NESTA, while also collaborating extensively with artists and creative practitioners across the world. She holds an MA in Creative and Media Enterprises from the University of Warwick and a BSc in Marketing from Athens University of Economics and Business.
