Darko Obrenović was born in Belgrade, where he completed secondary education at the “Nikola Tesla” Electrotechnical School before enrolling at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, specializing in Power Systems. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in January 2012. During his studies, he participated in a student exchange program and spent one academic year in the United States. After graduating, he was employed on a contractual basis by the Italian company MSC as a Maintenance Engineer, where he gained hands-on experience with shipboard electric power generation and distribution systems, as well as large-scale marine electric drives. Upon returning to Serbia, he worked as a Site Supervision Engineer, overseeing the installation of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems for a food industry logistics and distribution facility. He was subsequently involved in the commissioning of industrial plants at a newly built copper smelter, after which he continued his career in a design office responsible for the electrical design of hospitals, residential buildings, and villas in the Middle East. In 2018, he joined Schneider Electric as a Sales Engineer supporting panel builders, where he applied his prior experience in electrical design and project execution. Two years later, he transitioned to a role focused on collaboration with major contractors, managing key commercial and industrial projects across Serbia. In 2024, he assumed leadership of the Commercial and Industrial Buildings team, covering the markets of Serbia and Montenegro. Within this role, he is also responsible for direct customers, licensed partners, and the EcoXpert program. Darko is an adventurer by nature who values travel and social interaction. He keeps pace with technological innovations and is continuously committed to personal and professional development. He is married and a father of two children.
