Dr. Orestis Omran is a Partner in DLA Piper's Brussels office and Co-Head of the firm's Greece Country Group, leading its practice across Greece and Cyprus. He advises on international corporate and finance transactions in the energy, banking and infrastructure sectors, and on EU regulatory matters before the European Commission and EU Courts. Qualified in England and Wales, New York, Greece and Brussels, Orestis has built his practice around complex cross-border work spanning multiple legal systems. His transactional experience includes structured and project finance, privatisations, IPOs and asset acquisitions, with a particular track record across southeastern Europe. In the energy sector he advises on renewables, hydrogen, power purchase agreements, oil and gas, and interconnection infrastructure. He has also represented clients, including the Greek Government, in state aid investigations before the European Commission and subsequent proceedings before the EU Courts. Orestis is ranked by Chambers Global 2026 as a Foreign Expert in Banking & Finance (Belgium), Expertise Based Abroad in Banking & Finance (Greece), and Expertise Based Abroad in Corporate/Commercial (Greece), where he has been ranked for seven consecutive years.
