Dimitrios Athanasiou is a senior energy expert with more than 15 years experience in European energy efficiency policies for buildings. He worked as a Policy Officer for 6 years in DG Energy (Energy Efficiency Unit, Buildings Team) in various thematic of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. Prior to joining the European Commission, he worked as Ministers’ Consultant for 8 years in the area of energy efficiency in the Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy. Today he leads the cluster for Buildings and Bult Environment in IEECP managing European projects and contract services with regards to buildings and energy efficiency policy.
