Biography of Architect Massimiliano Fuksas Massimiliano Fuksas is an Italian architect born in Rome to a family of Lithuanian origins. He graduated in Architecture from La Sapienza University of Rome in 1969 and, starting from the 1980s, emerged as a leading figure on the international architectural scene. Founder of Studio Fuksas in Rome, Paris, Shenzhen, and Shanghai, Massimiliano Fuksas has completed more than 600 projects worldwide, with a particular focus on research, sustainability, and the quality of human experience. Massimiliano Fuksas has significantly contributed to global architectural culture: he has served on the Urban Planning Commissions of Berlin and Salzburg;he was Director of the 7th Venice Architecture Biennale titled “Less Aesthetics, More Ethics”;and he has been a visiting professor at Columbia University in New York and at the École Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris, as well as professor at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Vienna and at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of GNAM – Rome’s National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art.
