Mr. Michail Bletsas has served as Governor of the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCSA) of Greece since April 2024, actively contributing to the development of the national cybersecurity strategy. Since 1996, he has been a Research Scientist and Director of Computing Systems at the MIT Media Lab, Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States. He was a core member of the technical and design team of the “One Laptop per Child” (OLPC) initiative, which created the pioneering and award-winning “XO” laptop. His research interests include network security, countering the systematic spread of disinformation, wireless networks, and the development of high-performance computing infrastructures for machine learning. In recent years, he has been extensively engaged in consulting on cybersecurity, technology, innovation, and public policy issues, while also serving as a keynote speaker at major international conferences and public fora. Mr. Bletsas holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and a Master's degree (MSc) in Computer Engineering from Boston University.
