Dr. Solomon Passy Foreign Minister (2001–2005) Founding President, Atlantic Club Bulgaria;Co-Chairman, www.Hello-Space.eu As Foreign Minister he successfully negotiated & signed Bulgaria’s memberships to NATO and EU. He also served as OSCE Chairman-in-Office, UN Security Council Chairman. In August 1990 as an MP he initiated Bulgaria’s accession to NATO (and subsequently to EU) along with the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact - the first on European territory documented official appeal in that regard. Solomon founded the Atlantic Club as NGO arm to secure these goals. He further served on as Chairman of the Parliamentary Committees on Defence, Foreign Affairs and Security and was chair of the Transparency & Accountability committee of OSCE PA (2006-2009). He holds a PhD in Mathematical Logic and Computer Science. For their contribution to Bulgaria’s Antarctic presence, Peak Passy and Atlantic Club Ridge are named after them on Livingston Island, Antarctica. In 2021, he talked live to the International Space Station, initiating the NASA-supported program “Hello Space! Bulgaria calling!”. In 2008 Solomon and Gergana Passy initiated the universal GSM charger - currently in use all over EU and beyond. For this achievement, he and his wife, Gergana Passy, were honored with an award for distinguished Bulgarians. Additionally, Dr. Passy serves on the Scientific Council of the NATO Defense College Foundation in Rome. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Endocrinology Institute in Sofia. He has been awarded numerous honors from Italy, Spain, France, Portugal.
