Mr. Thomas Schnoell took up duties as OECD Special Representative to the United Nations on 15 January 2025. Before taking up this post, Mr. Schnoell acted as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Secretary-General of the OECD, taking up his functions on 16 January 2023. Previously, Mr. Schnoell served as the Acting Austrian Ambassador to France since January 2022 and as Alternate Permanent Delegate to UNESCO from September 2022. From 2018 to January 2021, Thomas was the Austrian Permanent Representative to the OECD. Prior to that, he served as spokesperson for the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs in Vienna, Austria, from 2015 to 2018, and as the Austrian Ambassador to Albania, from 2013 to 2015.
