Serikzhan Rysbekov, CFA, is Chairman of the Executive Board and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Investment Corporation of the National Bank of Kazakhstan (NIC). He is responsible for the Corporation’s overall management and oversees its investment strategy and long-term development. NIC specialises in alternative investments, managing dedicated portfolios of sovereign and pension assets. Mr. Rysbekov has nearly two decades of experience in central banking and investment management. He began his career at the National Bank of Kazakhstan in 2007 and joined NIC in 2012, holding senior positions before serving as Deputy CEO from 2016 to 2022. Prior to returning to NIC as Chair in April 2024, he served as Chief Platform Officer at the Astana International Financial Centre Authority and Deputy CEO of BCC Invest. Mr. Rysbekov holds an MSc in Strategic Entrepreneurship and Innovation from King’s College London, an MBA from T. Ryskulov Kazakh Economic University, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
