Argyro Chioti has been the Artistic Director of the National Theatre of Greece since March 2025. She is a theatre director, dramaturg, actress and theatre educator whose work spans Greece and France. A graduate of the Morfes Drama School at Embros Theatre, she also holds a degree in Theatre Studies and a master’s degree in Directing and Dramaturgy from the University of Provence in France. In 2006, she co-founded the theatre company VASISTAS, which began its work in France before expanding its activities to Greece. Her directing career encompasses a wide range of theatrical forms, from classical works and large-scale productions to contemporary playwriting and interdisciplinary performances that bring together different art forms. She has collaborated with many of the leading theatre institutions and venues in Athens and across Europe, including the Athens Epidaurus Festival, Onassis Stegi and the National Theatre of Greece.
