Alberto Leyton is a Lead Public Sector Management Specialist in the Governance Global Practice in the World Bank, currently working in the European and Central Asia Region. From this position Mr. Leyton leads World Bank activities to support governance and public sector modernization initiatives in the region. He is currently providing support to the governments of Romania, Croatia, Poland and other EU member states, as well as other countries in the Western Balkans, helping develop institutional capabilities in the areas of performance management, revenue administration, public financial management and justice administration. Mr. Leyton joined the World Bank in 2002. Prior to joining the World Bank, Mr. Leyton had a 15-year career in the public sector in Bolivia where he held senior management positions including as Vice-Minister of Planning and Finance and Minister of the Presidency. He holds advanced degrees in the areas of Sociology, Statistics and Public Administration.
