Aggelos Tsakanikas is an Associate Professor in the field of Economic Evaluation of Systems of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Director of the Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics (LIEE), National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He is also heading the Entrepreneurship Observatory, at the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (FEIR/IOBE). He teaches Economics, Investment Analysis, Business Administration, Statistics, Topics of Technology - Innovation – Entrepreneurship at the Chemical Engineering department and Industrial Policies and International Competitiveness (Athens MBA). He is also heading the NTUA Technology Transfer Office. In the context of his research activity has been involved with numerous sectoral studies, studies on entrepreneurship and competitiveness, studies on ICTs adoption and diffusion, and economic performance at the macro, meso and micro level of analysis. His main research interests and most of his published work lie in technology strategy, business strategy, innovation economics, entrepreneurship, and related public policies. He has also participated in various European projects in innovation studies, socioeconomics research and information society. He has also served as Vice chairman of the Hellenic Industrial Property organization (Greek Patent Office) from 2017 to 2019. He is also a member of the Greek team that participates in the World Competitiveness Yearbook published by the International Management Development.
