Laura von Daniels

Laura von Daniels is head of SWP’s Americas Research Division, a position she held since 2019. Her areas of expertise include trans-Atlantic relations, trade and financial policy as well as sovereign debt and financial crises.

Laura holds an MA and PhD in Political Science from the Freie Universitaet Berlin. She was previously a Postdoc Fellow at Harvard University’s Weatherhead Center for International Affairs and a research fellow at Princeton University. She taught Political Economy as a visiting assistant professor at Central European University Budapest and the University of the German Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg.
