Bogolo J. Kenewendo is a global economist and Former Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry in Botswana. She is currently championing climate finance and action as a catalyst for development in Africa and the global south in her role as Africa Director & Special Advisor of the UN High Level Climate Champions Team. Kenewendo is also a vocal advocate for gender equity and protection of children’s rights. She has received global recognition for her work, being appointed as a member of the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council, a member of United Nations SecretaryPanel on Digita General António Guterres’ HighLevel l Cooperation, Advisory group on the gender architecture of the UN and group on Financing for Development, a member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Future Council on Global Public Goods in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and a WEF Young Global L eader. She is also a NonResident Fellow with Center for Global Development and a member of several corporate boards. In 2022 she was one of the Time 100 Next Honorees and has been named as one of Africa’s 100 most influential people by various publicati ons over the last 5 years.
