A native of Rome, Marco Romani Mistretta read Classics at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa and received a PhD in Classical Philology from Harvard University in 2018. He then joined the Paideia Institute, an Italian-American company leader in the international student travel sector. He currently directs Paideia's European branch, managing over forty
educational tours every year and overseeing all financial operations.
Besides being the author of several research publications, he has taught a number of courses on ancient languages, Greek and Roman literatures, and science in antiquity. His research deals with a number of ancient philosophical and intellectual-historical issues, focusing primarily on the idea of invention and scientific discovery in antiquity.
He has also written on Augustan Latin poetry and its reception in early modern Europe, as well as on the history of Classical scholarship in Italy and elsewhere. His work has been published in Gaia, the Classical Quarterly, and the International Journal of the Classical Tradition. He regularly peer-reviews articles for Sage Business Cases and lectures at Rome's Sapienza University.
