Michael Søsted is Managing Director, Head of Finance and Operations at the Global Maritime Forum. The Global Maritime Forum is a non-profit organisation committed to shaping the future of global seaborne trade to increase sustainable long-term economic development and human wellbeing. The Foundation is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Michael Søsted co-founded the Global Maritime Forum in 2017 on the back of the Danish Maritime Forum he helped establish as Head of Secretariat from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, Michael Søsted has worked close to 10 years in the Danish Ministry of Business Affairs and affiliated Authorities, including Danish Maritime Authority.

A native of Denmark, Michael graduated from the University of Aarhus with a master’s degree in political science in 2003.
