Anastasia Miaouli is the Chairperson of the Hellenic Fiscal Institution and Emeritus Professor at the Athens University of Economics and Business, Department of Economics.

She received her B.A. and M.Sc. in Economics from the Athens University of Economics and Business and Ph.D. from the University of London (1990). Her current research focuses on issues of macroeconomics, fiscal policy, structural reforms in product and labour markets, etc.

She has been Dean for the School of Economics AUEB, Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the City University London UK, Visiting Professor at Queen Mary College University of London UK, University of Cyprus, and University of Bern among others. She has been Expert Evaluator for European projects and she is acting as Vice Chair in evaluations of MSCA fellowships in the DG Research under 6th, 7th and Horizon 2020 Framework Programs.

She has published many papers in international peer reviewed journals, has presented her work in various international conferences and workshops and has been editor of two books in the field of macroeconomics and mathematical economics. She has been member of professional and academic organizations (European Association of Labour Economists, European Economic Association, International Atlantic Economic Society among others) and has served as referee in many scientific journals such as Journal of Economic Studies, International Review of Applied Economics, Journal of Macroeconomics, Economic Modelling among others.
