Stavros, born in Athens in 1961, is holding a BA in Economics from the University of Athens (Greece) - Law School and a MA in Labour Economics from the University of Kent (UK). He is a Certificant of the Institute of Risk Management (UK). Returning from the UK he lectured for 8 years on Public Finance at the University of Piraeus. Also lectured for 17 years at the Hellenic Institute of Insurance Studies. He has been a contributor to a number of international journals on Industrial Relations, Minimum Wages and Unemployment.
Regularly published in the Greek financial press and an active public speaker on risk management, strategic risks, supply chain risks and loss prevention strategies. In 1986 he co-founded Hellenic Bain Clarkson SA, then Aon Hellas SA and served as Chairman and CEO for some 23 years. Founding partner of Aon in Cyprus where he held the position of Chairman. In 2009, he established EXL Consulting SA (www.exl.gr); a boutique risk management and insurance broking firm based in Athens, focusing on, large corporate clients of the private sector, family offices, and the public sector. Also founder of EXL (Cyprus) Limited, a company active in international risk management and insurance broking. He has served as Secretary General (1998-2000) and Vice-Chairman (2004-2006), of the Hellenic Insurance Brokers Association. Currently Vice Chairman of the Greek Nigerian Chamber of Commerce & Technology. Stavros’s international scope and extensive experience in the design, placement and servicing of risk management and insurance programs for large organizations, have been proven instrumental in numerous risk management projects for both global and Greek conglomerates. Building on his decades-long experience in multinational organizations, he is also offering his services, as management consultant to professional services firms, with a focus on marketing, sales, remuneration, building trust-based models and related topics. Member of the Yacht Club of Greece (YCG) and of its Permanent Offshore Sailing Committee. Member of the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) in the UK.
