Basil Gavalas is a Forbes 30 Under 30 entrepreneur, geopolitical advisor and author with a record in public policy and business diplomacy. He is member of the Leadership Council of the New York Times-affiliated Democracy and Culture Foundation and he also serves on the Advisory Board of the Platform for African Democrats, alongside former heads of state, Nobel Laureates and senior political & industry leaders from across the globe. He is the vice president of the Hellenic–Iraqi Business Council (which he co-founded with MEP Nikos Papandreou), an elected member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), and sits on the Strategy Council of DIKTIO, one of Greece’s leading think tanks.
A lawyer by training and published poet, Basil has previously served in various positions as a senior political advisor with the Greek Government, as well as advisor to multiple international think tanks and institutions focused on strategy and governance.
