Basil Gavalas is a Forbes 30 Under 30 entrepreneur, geopolitical advisor and author with a record in public policy and business diplomacy. He is member of the Leadership Council of the New York Times-affiliated Democracy and Culture Foundation and he also serves on the Advisory Board of the Platform for African Democrats, alongside former heads of state, Nobel Laureates and senior political & industry leaders from across the globe. He is the vice president of the Hellenic–Iraqi Business Council (which he co-founded with MEP Nikos Papandreou), an elected member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), and sits on the Strategy Council of DIKTIO, one of Greece’s leading think tanks.

A lawyer by training and published poet, Basil has previously served in various positions as a senior political advisor with the Greek Government, as well as advisor to multiple international think tanks and institutions focused on strategy and governance. He’s the Founder of various companies including Milhous Associates, a geopolitical advisory firm active in high-level business diplomacy across the Middle East and Africa.
