Artemis A. Zenetou is the Executive Director of the Fulbright Foundation in Greece, which was established in 1948 to support academic exchanges between Greece and the United States.  She is the first Greek citizen and woman to hold that position in the Foundation’s history. 

Educated in Greece and in the United States, with degrees in the History of Art/Business, Museum Studies/Management of Non-Profit Organizations, Zenetou has extensive professional experience in U.S. and international organizations.  This includes the World Bank, Washington, D.C., where she established an art and cultural program; the 42nd U.S. Presidential Inaugural Committee for Art and Cultural Initiatives; the Smithsonian Institution; and the Federal Reserve Bank, Boston – Cultural Affairs. 

Zenetou has published both in English and in Greek and has co-authored two books: Museums: a Place to Work (Routledge Press) and Gender Perspectives: Essays on Women in Museums (Smithsonian Press). Her interests include cultural diplomacy, academic and cultural exchange, international affairs and the Greek diaspora.

She has served on the Board of the Cultural Olympiad, Ministry of Culture (2001–2004), on the Advisory Committee on Cultural Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2002–2004), and on the Board of College Year in Athens – DIKEMES (2008–2018).  She is currently on the Advisory Committee for the Greek Diaspora Fellowship Program; the International Academic Partnership Program for Greek – U.S. Collaboration in Higher Education (IAPP); and HIGGS, the Higher Incubator Giving Growth & Sustainability.
