He holds a Master's Degree in International Economic Relations from the University of National and World Economy and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv. He holds a number of additional qualifications and certificates in the field of economics, management and digitization from Imperial College London, the Business School of the University of Oxford and other international educational institutions.
Over the years, he has held positions as an economic expert and consultant on the project for the construction of an Intermodal Container Terminal in Plovdiv, a member of the Board of Directors of the Public Access Zone in Port of Burgas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Port Burgas” EAD and Chairman of the Management Board and Deputy Director General of the National Railway Infrastructure Company.
He was the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications in the Caretaker Government appointed by President Rumen Radev in January 2017. From September to December 2021, he was again the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications in the Caretaker Government appointed by the Head of State.
In March 2022 he was appointed Economic Secretary to the President.
