Panagiotis Theodorikakos

Panagiotis (Takis) Theodorikakos was born in 1964 in Keratsini. He graduated from the Ionideios Model High School and holds a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Primary Education of the University of Athens.

He pursued postgraduate studies in political science and sociology at the School of Economics and Political Sciences of the University of Athens. He is a Doctor of Public Policies at the University of the Peloponnese (School of Social and Political Sciences), where he has taught both at undergraduate and postgraduate level from 2004 to 2019.

Between 2000 and 2016, he was scientific associate and president of the “GPO S.A.” company, having the scientific supervision of hundreds of social and political surveys in Greece and Cyprus. He has also presented dozens of political surveys in the mass media in Greece and Cyprus.

He has taken part in dozens of conferences and has written articles on a number of social and political issues. He is married and has two children.

In October 2015, he was appointed Strategy Advisor to the President of the “New Democracy” political party Kyriakos Mitsotakis and, from October 2016 to the May and July 2019 elections, he was Strategic Planning and Communication Coordinator of the party.

At the 2019 parliamentary election, he was elected Member of the Hellenic Parliament (State Constituency) with the “New Democracy” party and, on 9 July 2019, he was appointed Minister of the Interior. After the recent cabinet reshuffle, he was appointed Minister of Citizen Protection.
