Sophia Kalantaridou is Professor of Obstetrics – Gynecology and Infertility at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, School of Medicine, Athens, Greece. She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens (1989). Postdoctoral training at the Section on Women’s Health, Developmental Endocrinology Branch, National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, USA (International Fogarty Fellowship Award). She has received scholarships from the Alexander Onassis Public Benefit Foundation and the Hellenic College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is the recipient of multiple honors and awards from the American Endocrine Society, the International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology, the Hellenic College of Endocrinology and the Hellenic Heart Society.
She has 120 publications in peer reviewed Journals and book chapters. She is president of the Hellenic Society of Family Planning, Reproductive Health, and Contraception and vice-president of the Hellenic Society of Climacteric and Menopause. She is member of the American Endocrine Society, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology and the European Society of Contraception.
