Spiros graduated from the German School of Thessaloniki and studied Political Science and International Relations at the Universities of Freiburg and Munich.

He worked in the office of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Brussels. Returning to Thessaloniki, he took over his family business, the Galerie Dora Penga. From a local store of handmade carpets from the Middle East and Central Asia, the family business acquired a national profile with branches in Athens and Mykonos and a nationwide network of wholesale.

Spiros has been elected member of the city council of Thessaloniki and Deputy Mayor for Culture, Tourism and Education, E-Governance and International Relations, responsible for the extroversion policies of the City of Thessaloniki. During this tenure (2011 - 2019), he has also been founding and board member of Thessaloniki Convention Bureau, member of the Board of Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, of Thessaloniki Film Festival and TIF Helexpo SA.

He has been relentlessly speaking to various conferences, seminars and workshops around the world.

Spiros Pengas owns since September 2019 Wise Ram SA, a company that activates tourism and hospitality growth. He has already signed contracts with various Municipalities in northern Greece in order to promote the cities and the regions abroad. He has been assigned as a consultant to various private entities, tech-companies, malls and investors. He is also teaching Destination Marketing at the American College Thessaloniki (ACT)

He has recently announced his candidacy for Mayor of Thessaloniki.
