Yiannis Segos is the Mayor of Municipality of Hersonissos.

He was born in 1972. He is married and has two sons.

His family descends from Potamies, of Municipality of Hersonissos.

He holds a bachelor degree in Information Technology (IT) Engineering and a master's degree in International and European Economic Law (LLM).

He was elected as mayor for the first time, in May 2019.

He is chairman of the Board of Directors of the FODISA Voreias Pediadas (Solid Waste Management Agency Voreias Pediadas) and active vice-chairman of the Environment Committee of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece.

Since 2019, is also an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Regional Union of Municipalities of Crete.
