María Luisa Calero holds a Ph.D. in History and currently serves as the Head of the A.G. Leventis – Anahuac Chair in Cyprus Studies at Anahuac University in Mexico City, with the aim of promoting the culture, history, and study of Cyprus.

She specialized in Mexico’s international relations, specifically focusing on the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Her area of expertise lies in migration and exile, with a particular emphasis on the Mexican Revolution.

She also has 12 years of experience in international relations and multilateral agreements within the financial sector, having worked in both the public and private sectors.
