Ioannis Tirkides is Economic Research Manager at Bank of Cyprus. He is also since 2019 the president of the Cyprus economic Society. He has a long career in the domestic banking sector where he held research and managerial positions in economic analysis, planning, equity analysis, fund management and investment strategy. Prior to that he had taught at private universities in Cyprus and was contributing author for the Economist Intelligence Unit on the Cyprus economy. He has published as author and co-author in several books and edited volumes in Cyprus and abroad. He writes regularly and published in the Cyrus Economic Society Blog, and the local press. He studied economics at the University of Toronto and the University of Alberta in Canada.
