My name is Christos Parmakkis, I am actively participating in the political live of cyprus and Europe and fighting for a better future for our country and our union. I was born in 2006 in Cyprus from a Cypriot father and Ukrainian mother. From a very young age I had a big interest for politics and science&technology. Since the beginning I was always fighting for my and others rights and for democratic values. In 2020 I become a member of the youth advisory board of the Cypriot children rights protection commissioner, in this year I also started a platform on social media in which I am talking about issues that cyprus has, proposing solutions and engaging people(especially the youth) in the political life trying to affect the decision making process. By now this platform has about 8.000 followers, millions of views and about 200.000 likes. In 2020 I was also representing Cyprus in the European network of young advisors(ENYA).
I am participating in a lot of initiatives and programs that was created to bring youth closely to the decision making process.
I am an (youth) ambassador of the European Parliament. In march 2023 I went to Brussels as a representative of Cyprus to the youth event(session)of the European economic and social committee(your Europe your say). I am also running a lot of my own initiatives(some with the help of my social media platform), to solve problems that the youth and especially students are facing, to bring youth closely to the election process, to lower vote age and many else. After lots of talks and consultations with young people and after their support, I made a proposal to the president of Cyprus to become an advisor of the president about youth. I believe that we the youth with the help of all the people can break the system and a build a better country and a better union in which we all will want to live. We need actions, we need solutions, we need a new kind of politicians, that is what I am trying to create.
