Ipek Borman, PhD, is an international relations expert. She has experience both in academic and public sectors. She is a senior lecturer in International Relations, teaching on areas of expertise such as global security, conflict and peace. She was formerly involved in the comprehensive negotiations for the solution of the Cyprus problem and served as a core member of the negotiation team of the Turkish Cypriot side between 2005-2010 and 2015-2020. She writes regularly on the politics of the Cyprus problem and foreign policy issues, and actively contributes to bicommunal civil society initiatives and projects. She is currently involved in the Cyprus Futures - a transformative scenarios process, and also serves as the Vice-President of Global Policies Centre (GLOPOL) - a Nicosia-based, non-profit, independent think tank.
