Yağmur İzcan

Legal Advisor of the Human Rights Platform

Yagmur holds an LLB degree form Queen Mary University of London, and an LLM degree on Human Rights, Conflict and Justice from SOAS University of London.  After being admitted to Cyprus Turkish Bar Association, she began pursuing cases concerning human rights violations before the courts. She was a member of the professional team providing legal advice to several trade unions and she was part of the team that provided legal service to one of the candidates during the 2020 Presidential Elections in the northern part of Cyprus. She has been part of the Turkish Cyprus Bar Association Human Rights Committee since 2018, and as a volunteer she has been involved in campaigns concerning peacebuilding, gender equality and anti-militarism. Today, she works as the legal adviser of the Human Rights Platform & as a part of her position provides legal aid to individuals and organisations on human rights issues.
