Costas Clerides was born in Nicosia in 1952 and he is a barrister –at- law. He practiced law in the private sector for 10 years and in 1988 he was appointed as a District Judge. Having served as a member of the Judiciary in all levels and in all jurisdictions, in 2009 he was appointed as a member of the Supreme Court of Cyprus. In 2013 he was appointed as the Attorney General of the Republic, a post in which he served until June 2013.
