Dr Luigi Scazzieri is a senior research fellow at the Centre for European Reform (CER), where he has worked since 2016. His work focuses on European security and defence and EU foreign policy – particularly towards the Union’s southern neighbours. Luigi holds a PhD in European Politics from King’s College London, MA degrees from the LSE and King’s College London and a BA from the University of Cambridge. Luigi has contributed opinion pieces on European foreign policy and European politics to outlets such as The Guardian, Project Syndicate, CNN and The Times.
