Matteo Fumerio is International Relations Officer for the Mediterranean region at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Energy. He was previously Head of Sector for East Asia and regional coordination at the Directorate-General for International Partnerships, Economic Analyst at the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs, and Budget Team Leader at the Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology. Before joining the European Commission in 2006, he worked at the College of Europe in Bruges, at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Milan, and at the Mission of Italy to the United Nations in New York. He holds master’s degrees in Economics and Public Sector Management from Bocconi University in Milan, and in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges.
