Ioannis Giannakos is acting Governor of Public Ports Authority of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy since 2020 and General Director since 2019.
He has been at the Public Sector since 2004 working for Hellenic Authority for Communication Security and Privacy as public policy and privacy expert. He has extensive teaching experience, including at the National School of Public Administration.
He holds a BSc in European Studies from the Hellenic Open University, a BCs in Telecommunication Engineering from the Technical Educational Institute of Athens and a BSc in Art Theory and History from the Athens Scholl of Fine Arts.
He holds a MSc in Political Science and Sociology from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
He is also a graduate, with honors, of the National School of Public Administration and Local Government.
He earned his PhD in Political Science with honors from the School of Social Sciences of the University of Crete in the field of the regulatory policies and the indipendent authorities of the Greek political system.
He is the author of several publications in the field of political science and public policy and has many participations in conferences.
